What Happened to Dris in Top Boy?
Sadly, Dris met an unfortunate end in the world of Top Boy.
At the end of Season 2 (or Season 3 if you are a fan of Top Boy: Summerhouse), Dris was shot by Sully after he betrayed Summerhouse.
Dris’ health had seriously deteriorated after he suffered a stroke and his mental state suffered when Dushane (Ashley Walters) demoted him after he had multiple seizures whilst out dealing, becoming a liability to Dushane’s business.
When Jermaine (Ashley Thomas) from the rival gang London Fields visited Dris outside his daughter’s school, offering more money which would have allowed him to provide a better life for his young daughter Erin, Dris had no option but to give up Sully (Kane Robinson) and Dushane’s location.
Unfortunately for Dris, Dushane and Sully knew Dris was the one to give up the location, as he was the only one in Summerhouse who knew the exact address.
Moments later, Modie (David Omoregie) ambushed Dunshane and Sully’s hideout and successfully regained control of the London Fields gang, albeit temporarily.
For almost three years fans had been left questioning whether Dris was dead or alive. After all, we had never seen Dris’ death play out on screen, only heard the sound of bullets being fired after an intense conversation with Sully.
At the beginning of Top Boy Season 2 (also known as Season 4 to some), Sully is coming to terms with the fact he killed his friend, especially considering Dris has a young daughter a similar age to Sully’s, who is now in the care of social services as her mother Mandy (No Lay) was in prison at the time of Dris’ death.
When Sully hears of Mandy’s release from prison, he pays her a visit and tries to give her a whole load of cash to help her get back on her feet. When Erin rejects his offer, suspecting he was the one to kill Dris, he manages to secure her a job at Shelley’s (Little Simz) salon, paying her wages.
Who Played Dris in Top Boy?
Shone Romulus played Dris in the first three seasons of Top Boy.
His well-known credits include the movies Lace-Up, Intent, Out, and No Shade. In recent years, he has launched his own clothing brand @dapazilla, specializing in streetwear.
According to his Instagram, he is also a chef at Island Grub and Island Passion. He is also the host of the podcast, Cakes&Cognac.
