Titles were first introduced as an optional endgame objective in Destiny 2: Forsaken where hardcore players could show off their dedication to specific areas, with new titles added every season. Ranging from the Crucible to Gambit, Raids, Lore, and Seasonal content, only the most dedicated of players would be able to complete these objectives and be rewarded with a golden seal on the Triumphs screen and a nametag above the player. One player by the name of Dawncraftian went above and beyond in his quest to unlock every title in the game and he did so in 1672 hours!

Did someone finish them all?
In a Reddit thread that’s currently sitting at a whopping 9.4 thousand upvotes, user Dawncraftian has been applauded by the Destiny community over the past two week for his achievement in unlocking all 13 of the current titles in Destiny 2 including the limited-time Undying title from Season of the Undying and the MMXIX title from Moments of Triumph. Considering the amount of time and effort by himself and his clan, there’s little doubt that Dawncraftian was dedicated.
Starting off as little more than a hobby for a hardcore Destiny 2 player, Dawncraftian had managed to unlock a couple of the titles through natural play before transitioning into a full thing. Taking a total of 1672 hours (almost 70 days) according to the website “Time Wasted on Destiny,” he managed to unlock them all through daily sessions of at least five hours, and constant help from a dedicated clan.
Dawncraftian isn’t the only one to have unlocked every title, as multiple users responded with congratulations and claims that they too had achieved this, and popular Destiny YouTuber “Datto” can be seen having completed them all in his videos. The sheer amount of time required to complete a task this big says a lot, but there are much tougher requirements in some of these titles beyond simply playing Destiny 2 for a long time.
What Does it Take to Complete the Titles?
Destiny 2 currently has a total of 13 titles in-game which include titles for the following activities: Destinations, Lore, Raids, the Crucible, Gambit, and seasonal activities that include the Lost Forges, Gambit Prime, the Menagerie, Shadowkeep, and the new Season of Dawn. Requirements to complete the title have a wide range of objectives from menial tasks like completing Lost Sectors and Heroic Adventures on each destination to more defeating all available bosses in certain activities like the Blind Well in the Dreaming City, or the Menagerie on Nessus.
The majority of objectives can be easily completed by most players by simply playing all of Destiny 2’s various modes and activities. However, while that may get a large portion of a single title complete, many of the titles have a couple of objectives that outweigh everything else of the list. For example, in order to obtain the Crucible title, one of the objectives is to reach the rank of Legend in the competitive playlist, a near-impossible task for the average player, whereas another objective for the same seal is to reach Legend across three separate seasons. The Raid titles and seasonal titles all include a Flawless run of the activity, including the Season of Dawn’s Sundial activity, while other titles rely heavily on RNG - most notably the Gambit and Dreaming City titles which require players to unlock all of the available loot.
Dawncraftian called out the Black Armory, Gambit Prime, and Crucible titles as being some of the most difficult to complete. He spent two full seasons waiting for a single rare bounty to drop from the Lost Forges to complete on of the objectives which require players to complete six special bounties that can randomly drop in the activity. On the other side of the spectrum, the title for Gambit Prime is commonly referred to by the Destiny community to the sheer level of playtime needed as players would need to win a total of 60 matches to cross off only a portion of its objectives, something that would take hours even before factoring any potential losses into the equation.

Not everyone is going to be a fan of Destiny 2’s title system, particularly the limited-time seasonal titles that require an obscene amount of grinding in one activity such as Reckoner and Undying. With that said, titles aren’t meant for everybody and the goal isn’t for players to unlock every single one of them. Instead, titles are meant to be fun endgame goals that players can strive after to add a little flair and flex to their character. Playing enough Crucible might warrant a hardcore PvP player to nab the title but that doesn’t mean the Raid titles are must-haves for that player.
Still, unlocking every title in that Destiny 2 currently has to offer (excluding the brand new Saviour title for Season of Dawn) is one hell of an accomplishment that many will never get the chance to achieve. For those jumping straight into the new season, Bungie has recommended that all players be on the lookout for a few known Season of Dawn issues and bugs in the game right now. Hopefully, they won’t take too long to get cleared up in a future patch.
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
