Certainly, with a franchise as large and popular as Star Wars, money is at the forefront of the makers’ minds when creating the six films of the prequel and sequel trilogies. However, there are many elements of these six films that do contribute other essential aspects to the universe, other than just more story. They expand upon the lore, provide new avenues for different people to explore science fiction, and keep the legacy of Star Wars from dying out....

However, unlike in comic books where dialogue usually takes the tone of whomever’s voice the readers’ imagination can conjure, What If…? has to contend with over a decade of MCU history that has made characters such as Iron Man, Thor, Nick Fury, and Captain America to be so closely tied to the actors that portray them. This is especially true for early MCU entrants since Chris Evans never had a problem owning his Steve Rogers persona, although his animated replacement Josh Keaton already proved to be quite capable of picking up the mantle....

The last few episodes of What If…? have explored the darker possibilities contained within the Marvel multiverse — heroes falling to the dark side, villains achieving total victory, and beloved characters being slaughtered left and right. While the episodes themselves have been consistently excellent, it can be a little emotionally draining seeing so many bleak stories one after another. Thankfully, What If…? Episode 7 takes a break from all the death and suffering to provide some much-needed comic relief....
